These are just a few of the practical applications for RELDATA:

• You have some arrays from which you have already migrated their data onto your RELDATA and they remain viable. Simply use the RELDATA to format their native volumes and from that point on they will be available as managed LUNs on your new IP SAN.
• You have a production Fibre Channel SAN that you can not take offline but it is reaching end of life (EOL) so you need to get it to a newer, faster, more scalable platform using iSCSI. As shown in the diagram you can quickly and easily slip a RELDATA in-band and continue to connect to your Fibre Channel arrays as you non-disruptively replicate your legacy volumes to the new virtualized storage. Once that process is completed you can cut-over, always with the option to failback.
• You have many existing NAS servers and you would like to consolidate their contents and then replicate only the delta changes to a remote location. With the RELDATA you can replicate external (to the RELDATA) CIFS Shares and/or NFS Mounts to RELDATA managed volumes. These volumes can then be replicated at the file level to a remote locations and - as you would expect - only the changes are transmitted. Of course you can consolidate all of your NAS servers directly onto a RELDATA for even better results.
